AREAS AFFECTED: Alger; Southern Schoolcraft; Northern Schoolcraft
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. * WHERE...Alger, Northern Schoolcraft, and Southern Schoolcraft Counties. * WHEN...From 4 PM Monday to 7 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation will start out as freezing rain late Tuesday afternoon and transition to snow late in the evening. Untreated surfaces and particularly secondary roads that are already snow packed could become very slippery. For the far eastern parts of Alger and Schoolcraft counties mainly snow is expected.
INSTRUCTION: Slow down and use caution while traveling.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
